Ghostbusters: The Video Game getting an HD remaster started as a rumor that got fans of the iconic franchise excited, especially since the 2009 video game is considered to be the real
Ghostbusters 3 that they never got; of course, now a real
Ghostbusters 3 movie is in the works — but until then, this is all they had.
Thankfully, the rumors were true and Mad Dog Games finally announced, back in May of this year, that
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered was going to be releasing at some point in 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
Now, Mad Dog Games has finally given us an official release date for the game, and fans will be glad to find out that
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will be releasing on the
4th of October; just in time for Halloween.
Alongside the announcement, Mad Dog Games also released — via a clip posted by IGN — 30 seconds of gameplay that give us a good idea of what
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will look like when it finally releases.
Take a look:
Hunt, fight and trap a variety of new and familiar ghouls and phantasms, all remastered in HD resolution. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered equips you with cool gadgets and upgradeable weapons to play with in huge boss fights and destructible environments. Scan and analyze targets with the P.K.E. Meter and Paragoggles, then strap on your Proton Pack to wear ghosts down with the blast stream before wrangling them with the capture stream.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the 4th of October.
