The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise is one of the biggest, perhaps, THE biggest pop culture franchises in Japan. Because of that, there have been countless manga, anime, films, and of course, video games released under the title.

Since the arcade scene in Japan is a lot more lively than it is in the west, there are still new arcade titles that release based on some of the biggest franchises in the country! Gundam has even solidified its own place in the arcade industry with its multiple Gundam Extreme titles.

It was recently announced that a brand new title would begin closed beta testing in game centers later this year! The new game is called Gundam Extreme VS. 2 XBOOST (Cross Boost), which is the latest installment in the series.

As of now, not much is known about what is coming for the game or how the gameplay will change or improve, but it is expected that the title will do very well and who knows? Maybe it will make it to a console release! We would love to hear your thoughts on the new game in the comments section below!

Closed beta tests will begin in November for Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. 2 XBOOST, with more details coming in October!
