While all-new details on
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be revealed during a special Star Wars Celebration panel on Saturday, Community Engagement Specialist for EA's
Star Wars Jay Ingram has already shared one crucial information about the Respawn Entertainment-created video game.
According to Ingram,
Fallen Order is being developed with Unreal Engine 4, the latest iteration of Epic Games' powerful tool that has powered countless video games from the biggest studios and indie developers alike, including massive hits like
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Fortnite, and
A Way Out.
Considering that both
Star Wars: Battlefront and
Battlefront II were powered by DICE's Frostbite, it's quite a major, but also a welcome, change. As a reminder, EA's decision to force its in-house studios to use Frostbite (that's reportedly not flexible and hard to master) instead of other engines was one of the main reasons why
Anthem turned out to be the biggest gaming disappointing of the year so far.
Rumor has it that
Order won't feature a traditional multiplayer component, with gameplay sharing similarities to
The Force Unleashed and
Dark Souls. If recent leaks are true, the player will control a pre-made male protagonist and take part in huge battles involving the Inquisitors from
Star Wars Rebels.
While it all sounds great, remember that we're talking about EA here, so take it with a grain of salt.
From Respawn Entertainment comes a brand-new action adventure game which tells an original Star Wars story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be releasing Holiday 2019.
