It's Star Wars Day! Tt Games and Lucasfilm Games have unveiled the official key art for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagayou can check that out here. Unfortunately, they haven't yet revealed the highly anticiapted video game's release date. However, some of the developers recently revealed some new details about the game to StarWars.com.

Jonathan Smith, head of production and strategic director at TT Games, and Craig Derrick, managing producer at Lucasfilm Games, first told the site about the heartwarming and positive reaction that the game received during E3 2019 before going into the game itself.

"Freedom of choice is a really important principle for us!" Smith reiterated that you can start the game at any point in the saga. "We love stories and storytelling; but we also feel, both as gamers ourselves and with particular concern for young players driven to experimentation and change, that stories exist to be played with, however the player wants."

Derrick continued: "We all have our favorites that we want to jump straight into, while others may want to start with the new trilogy first, and yet we find most want to start at the beginning of the saga to see and play from where the story all began."

The developers then teased just how many playable characters will feature in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. What's more, they also revealed some that weren't yet confirmed — those being Admiral Ackbar, Zorii Bliss, and Yaddle.

"We’re all fans; there’s no shortage of characters we’d love to play with," said Smith. "And you can’t ask us to pick a single favorite! It’s the fact that the whole cast is brought together, uniquely in this LEGO form — the complete collection, from Admiral Ackbar to Zorii Bliss — which makes the game so special."

Derrick went on to say that the game will include almost five-hundred characters. Though not all of them will be playable, it's said that a great many of them will be (probably/hopefully the majority).

There are nearly 500 characters in this game, with many of them playable. When choosing characters for a game this large, we just looked at every film in the saga and tried to say “yes” as much as possible. That said, it often comes down to storytelling and the specific role of the character in the quests and game progression. Of course, we have almost all of your favorite heroes and villains from the films, many background players, a few surprises, and…Yaddle!

The galaxy is yours with LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga! Play through all nine saga films in a brand-new video game unlike any other. Fly across space to the saga's most memorable planets, in any order, at any time. A galaxy far, far away has never been more fun!

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2020.
