Earlier this year, 2K Games surprised fans of the Mafia series by revealing that Definitive Editions of the original Mafia, Mafia II, and Mafia III would be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic, Steam); with Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition releasing a week after the announcement.
Definitive Editions of Mafia II and Mafia III are actually remasters of the original games, but Mafia: Definitive Edition is actually a complete remake of the first entry in the Mafia series. As such, Mafia: Definitive Edition would take the developers a little bit longer to release.
Mafia: Definitive Edition was originally scheduled to release in August of this year, but 2K Games unfortunately announced that the game was being pushed back, and will now be releasing on Friday the 25th of September; not that much of a delay, but still somewhat disappointing news.
With the announcement that Mafia: Definitive Edition was being delayed a month, 2K Games promised that they would be sharing a proper gameplay reveal that would give players a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming title, and that this reveal would be released this week; today, in fact.
As promised, 2K Games has delivered and released almost 15 minutes of gameplay for Mafia: Definitive Edition, showing off the "A Trip to the Country" mission, and also featuring some developer insights from Hangar 13 President Haden Blackman — who tells players pretty much everything they need to know about the upcoming title.
