It is actually quite exciting to know that Mafia: Definitive Edition, a full-fledged remake of the original game, is finally a mere week away from releasing — becoming available on Friday the 25th of September, to be more precise — and giving players the chance to explore the fictional city of Lost Heaven.
Mafia: Definitive Edition was announced as part of 2K Games' Mafia Trilogy, although the second and third games in the series were only given the remaster treatment; fair enough, considering that those actually released on previous-gen hardware, while the original Mafia is almost 20 years old.
The developers at 2K Games have mentioned that Mafia: Definitive Edition will keep most of the elements found in the original intact, so the game won't really be an open-world title. With that said, they've still added in some new things to keep things fresh for those who played the original Mafia.
One of the new additions to the game are extended scenes, so players won't really feel like they're only experiencing a prettier version of a game they've already played and seen before, and the latest gameplay trailer released by 2K Games gives us at some of the things that are making a comeback, and some of the new extended scenes that the developers have added.
Have a look:
Re-made from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition offers a faithful remake of the original's acclaimed story with dramatically improved and expanded visuals and gameplay.
Mafia: Definitive Edition will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic, Steam) on Friday the 25th of September.
