Like we all assumed before Insomniac Games officially confirmed it, MARVEL's Spider-Man will also be releasing for the PlayStation 5, although this version has been revealed to be a remastered edition that will offer some enhancements that will improve the experience.

This was announced by Insomniac Games on the official PlayStation Blog, following the release of the new gameplay trailer for MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Which is great news, especially since Miles' origin story is actually told in the previous game.

MARVEL's Spider-Man Remastered, however, will only be available digitally, and Insomniac Games hs recently confirmed that there are no plans to release the game physically. In fact, the MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition will include a voucher for players to get the remastered version of the original; it's either that, or purchasing from the next-gen console's PlayStation Store.

We still have one more bit of information that may disappoint some of you, as Insomniac Games has also confirmed that players who already own their copy of MARVEL's Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4, be it digital or physical, will not be able to transfer their progress to the remaster once it releases.

While all of this may sound somewhat disappointed to some players out there, the developers at Insomniac Games have still done a great job making both the original MARVEL's Spider-Man and the upcoming MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales accessible for PlayStation users.

As a matter of fact, those who won't be purchasing a PlayStation 5 on launch day, and already own a PlayStation 4, can still purchase MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales for their current-gen console and then upgrade to the next-gen version completely free of charge.

Insomniac Games still has to confirm whether saves will be transferable from MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5 version, or if this is the same situation we have with the remaster of MARVEL's Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create an authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel's New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.

MARVEL's Spider-Man is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is expected to launch this Holiday for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
