Publisher Koei Tecmo has announced that the original
Nioh has sold over 2 million copies worldwide since its PlayStation 4 debut in February 2017, making this slasher inspired by
The Witcher and
Dark Souls one of the best-selling games in Team Ninja's history. To celebrate that achievement, the complete edition of
Nioh is currently on sale for 50% off on
Steam, bringing the price down to $25.
Considering that the first
Nioh was announced in 2004 and released 13 years later, it's even more amazing that the game is such a success. Nioh
is not only a best-selling title, but also a best-reviewed one, as
Nioh is slitting at an average critic rating of 88/100 on the review aggregator site Metacritic.
According to Koei, Team Ninja is working "
hard" on the sequel that was formally unveiled during last year's E3 at Sony's annual media briefing. Since that unexpected, but welcome announcement, we haven’t really learned much about the title, but Director Fumihiko Yasuda recently revealed that the acclaimed Japanese studio (that is also developing
Dead or Alive 6 and
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order) is slowly getting ready to share some major
Nioh 2 news is the very near future.
Prepare to be overwhelmed with intense action and experience the ultimate sense of accomplishment on your PlayStation 4 system with the highly anticipated release of the Sengoku masocore title, Nioh 2!
Nioh 2 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 but Koei Tecmo hasn't revealed its release date yet.
