Remedy Entertainment’s
Control was officially announced during Sony’s E3 2018 media briefing with an enigmatic teaser trailer. While we've learned a lot more about the
Max Payne studio's next project, the Finnish developer still hasn't confirmed
Control’s release date – but it looks like it will debut quite soon.
According to Game Informer's Elise Favis, she's been told that Remedy's next major title will be released this summer. Unfortunately, that's the only thing Favis said on that matter, as no specific release date was given. Considering that the Game Informer crew has recently had a chance to visit Remedy's headquarters in Espoo to gather intel for their ongoing
Control coverage, there's a rather big chance that the given info is true and
Control will indeed hit stores between June and September.
In
Control, you play as Jesse Faden, the newly promoted director of the Federal Bureau of Control, a clandestine government agency located in the heart of New York tasked with studying and containing supernatural phenomena. For the first time in a very long while, Remedy's new game won't be distributed by Microsoft, as 505 Games will release
Control for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in 2019.
After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain Control. This supernatural third-person action-adventure game will challenge you to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments, while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world.
Control is coming to PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One this summer.
