First announced during Microsoft's special presentation that took place in May of this year, Scarlet Nexus is Bandai Namco-developed action-adventure title coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Although Bandai Namco still hasn't revealed the game's official release date, it is safe to assume that Scarlet Nexus will be launching at some point next year. Considering that we don't even have a tentative date, it is also possible that the game could launch in Q3 or even Q4 of 2021.
From what we've been able to see in the gameplay trailers that the developers have shared, it looks like the game will be heavy on action. While Bandai Namco has not openly revealed this, fans were quick to point the similarities between Scarlet Nexus and other action-adventure titles like Bandai Namco's Code Vein, as well as PlatinumGames' Astral Chain and NieR: Automata.
Just last month, Bandai Namco also teased a collaboration for Scarlet Nexus with Japanese alternative rock band The Oral Cigarettes, although they didn't really reveal what this was, and today we finally know what this collaboration was all about.
As it turns out, The Oral Cigarettes has produced the main theme song for Scarlet Nexus and today Bandai Namco has shared the official music video that sees the band performing the song titled Dream in Drive, as well as some clips from the upcoming action-adventure game; still no release date, though.
Take a look:
In a far distant future, a psionic hormone was discovered in the human brain, granting people extra-sensory powers and changing the world as we know it. Just as humanity was entering this new era, deranged mutants known as Others began to descend from the sky with a thirst for human brains. Highly resistant to conventional attack methods, extreme measures needed to be taken to battle the overwhelming threat and preserve humanity.
Scarlet Nexus still doesn't have an official release date, but is expected to launch for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
