Earlier today, Konami made a very surprising announcement, by revealing a brand-new game called Skelattack was coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam). What's even more interesting is the fact that the game actually became available today.
Skelattack is an action-adventure title developed by independent studio Ukuza, which sees players controlling a character named Skelly — who is an interesting protagonist, as he's recently met his demise and is just getting used to being dead when humans attack his new home and kidnap the town's elder skeleton.
What's also quite interesting is the game's beautiful art style, that reminds us a little bit of Team Cherry's critically acclaimed Hollow Knight, and Studio MDHR's also critically acclaimed Cuphead; with a hand-drawn style that gives Skelattack a very fitting atmosphere.
According to Ukuza CEO and founder Shane deLumeau, Skelattack borrows elements from some of Konami's critically acclaimed series like Castlevania, Contra, and even Goemon — so fans of the aforementionedseries will feel right at home with this new action-adventure title.
With the announcement, Konami and Ukuza also shared an action-packed trailer for Skelattack, as well as a short gameplay video to give players a better idea of what to expect.

Skelattack turns the platforming hero stereotype on its head by putting players in the shoes of Skully, a skeleton fighting to protect his home. As a member of the newly deceased and just getting the hang of being dead, Skully’s newfound home and friends are attacked by humans. Instead of seeking gold or other treasure, the humans kidnap Aftervale's elder skeleton, Elzedon, and attempt to steal the magic that kindles the spirits of the dead - the Blue Flame. Together with Imber, Skully’s trusty bat friend, players will jump, slash, and flap their way through the Underworld in an attempt to stop the human threat, save the Elder, and protect the Blue Flame.
Skelattack is available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam) today.
