SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is a remastered version of 2003's classic 3D platformer — this time developed by Purple Lamp Studios and published, once again, by THQ Nordic — that brings back all of the elements that made the original a cult-classic.
This is no lazy remaster of the original SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, since the Rehydrated version looks better, sounds better, plays better, and has even added content that was cut from the original game, as well as a brand-new multiplayer mode.
By taking a look at the game, we can easily tell that THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp Studios have done a wonderful job keeping all of the elements that worked intact, while giving it that much-needed graphics makeover that makes SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated a proper current-gen title.
Now that SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated has finally become available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam) today, THQ Nordic has shared a nostalgic trailer that hits us right in the feels.
In this launch trailer see a kid playing the original game in the early 2000s, and now as an adult still enjoying the Rehydrated version of it; something that will definitely resonate with most players who got the chance to play SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom back in the day.
