Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is on its way later this month. It looks like the dev wants to cast as wide of a net as possible, with Respawn Entertainment implementing a difficulty selection following fans' comments about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order being a rather difficult game. That being said, if you know that it isn't like previous Star Wars games -- you can't hack and slash your way to victory -- you'll be okay with a bit of persistence and patience.
Design director Jeff Majors said in a recent interview with ComicBook that they are trying to make Star Wars Jedi: Survivor a game for all types of people, those who are "hardcore gamers" and those who are more "casual." This means the team is putting in the effort to make it possible for players to choose a difficulty that best suits their skills.
What seems interesting, though, is that they aren't looking at making the game difficult based on health or hits. Enemies aren't going to tank more hits just because you're on a higher difficulty. At this time, Majors hasn't explicitly explained how they make the game more or less difficult without making enemies take or deal more or less damage, but we're sure the team over at Respawn will figure it out.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor makes its way to current-gen consoles and PC on April 28.

"We want this game to work for casual Star Wars fans and hardcore gamers as well, So we've got Grandmaster for them, and we go all the way down to story mode. We added a Padawan difficulty mode in between Knight and Story this time, which gives us a little bit more nuance for different players. But as far as the lethality goes, one of our tenets of our difficulty modes is we don't ever add more hits, more health to enemies based on difficulty. The difficulty is not derived from "Now the lightsaber takes 10 hits to kill this Stormtrooper. If you make contact with them, they're all going to take the same amount of hits [regardless of difficulty]. That's really important to us in terms of the lethality."
