Hardsuit Labs, the young studio behind
Blacklight: Retribution, faces an uneasy task. In their upcoming
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, the developer will have to prove that they are capable of living up to the original from 2004 – a title widely regarded as one of the best RPG games ever made.
While the first
Bloodline took place in Los Angeles, the sequel will give you a chance to settle down in Seattle. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like meeting Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks will be your main quest, as the city's streets are being torn apart by powerful vampire factions. Your main mission is simple – finding out what's hiding behind the sprawling conspiracy which plunged Seattle into a bloody civil war.
Bloodlines 2 is written by Chris Avellone (
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords), Cara Ellison (
Dishonored 2), and Brian Mitsoda, the writer of the original game. Even if Hardsuit Labs somehow fails to match the greatness of the first
Bloodlines, it's rather safe to say that (at the very least) the highly anticipated sequel's story will be a memorable one.
