In September of last year, Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio revealed the great news that the criticalyl acclaimed Yakuza series was not over with Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and that a new entry was being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4; expected to release in Japan in January of 2020.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is bringing to the table a bunch of new features that will make this new entry in the series a bit different from its predecessors. For starters, Kazuma Kiryu is no longer the protagonist, as this game is introducing a sly new character in the form of Ichiban Kasuga.
The developers have also revealed that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is straying a bit from the classic action-adventure formula, and is opting to introduce turn-based combat in order to keep things fresh, although Ryū ga Gotoku Studio has also confirmed that the combat could be changed in the future if players don't like it.
With all of those changes that this new Yakuza title is introducing, players have been excited to know exactly when the game will be released. We've known for a couple of months that the game will be releasing in November, and today Sega has released an over the top trailer that finally gives players an answer.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will officially release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Windows 10, Steam) on Friday the 13th of November. The developers also reveal that the release date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will be announced at a later date.
