A team of eight students was given the task to create and produce an NES game reboot. Naturally, they chose Contra, completely redisigning and revamping the original 1987 run-and-gun shooter.

In just eight weeks, the students created Contra 2028a one-level alien survival third-person-shooter, utilizing the Unreal Engine 4. The game looks gorgeous and it has mechanics inspired from 2010's Vanquish, such as hyper-jumping and the ability to slide.

The game is totally free and available to play today on their website.
