A new trailer for Netflix's animated adaptation of Castlevania has been released. It confirms that the series will begin streaming on July 07. Celebrated comic book writer Warren Ellis wrote the script. The project is executive produced by Adi Shankar, who's probably best known for his Bootleg Universe series and the recent, dark & gritty Power/Rangers short film.
The series is said to be based on the 1989 Nintendo classic, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse - which saw the last member of the vampire-hunting Belmont clan attempt to put down Dracula once and or all. Joining him on the quest are the sorceress Sypha Belnades, the swashbuckling Grant Danasty and the half-vampire, Alucard.
