A new action-RPG promising unparalleled player-driven storytelling has just been revealed at Summer Game Fest Live. Chronicles: Medieval, the debut title from Copenhagen-based Raw Power Games, features developers who previously worked on major titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Grand Theft Auto. The game is targeting a 2026 Early Access launch on PC via Steam.

Narrated by actor Tom Hardy, the cinematic announcement trailer debuted during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest showcase. It opened with a dramatic sequence showing a blacksmith forging a blade, a soldier donning armor, and troops preparing for war. The visuals then transitioned into in-game footage, giving fans a first glimpse of what gameplay in Chronicles: Medieval will look like. Check out the awesome trailer down below:

A Player-Driven Medieval Sandbox

Chronicles: Medieval is described as an “immersive medieval sandbox,” where players will create their own characters and decide their fate by choosing between three story paths: Power, Adventure, or Fortune. Every choice impacts the world around them, shaping political alliances, enemy factions, and emergent storylines that aim to make no two playthroughs the same.

From forging alliances to starting wars, players must balance diplomacy and combat as they build their legacy in a living, reactive world. According to Raw Power Games, every system in the game is built to respond to the player’s decisions—whether they choose to rule with wisdom, seek glory, or simply pursue riches.

Massive Battles and Tactical Control

Large-scale battles are a key part of the experience. Players will be able to recruit, train, and lead their own armies into combat. These battles offer both strategic oversight and hands-on action, as players will not only command their troops but also fight on the front lines as their created character. This blend of macro tactics and moment-to-moment melee combat is expected to give battles a uniquely personal and immersive feel.

Full Mod Support at Launch

In a major win for creative communities, Raw Power Games has confirmed that Chronicles: Medieval will fully support modding at launch. The team is committing to giving players the tools and technology necessary to create and share new content, from custom weapons and characters to entirely new gameplay systems or questlines.

Early Access In 2026

While a precise date wasn’t provided, Chronicles: Medieval is scheduled to launch in early access on PC via Steam in 2026. With its open-world design, dynamic storytelling, large-scale battles, and full mod support, this new medieval RPG is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious releases of the year.
