GHOST OF YOTEI Arrives In Fall With New Trailer Announcement And Pre-Order Details

Sucker Punch Productions has officially confirmed that Ghost of Yotei will release globally on October 2nd, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. The announcement was made alongside a brand-new story trailer that introduces key gameplay elements and central characters, including the notorious Yōtei Six—the gang that protagonist Atsu is determined to bring to justice. A Tale of Vengeance and Purpose

Set in Ezo, the historical name for present-day Hokkaido, Ghost of Yotei tells the story of Atsu, a survivor of a brutal massacre carried out 16 years prior by a criminal syndicate known as the Yōtei Six. Left for dead and pinned to a burning ginkgo tree with her own katana, Atsu now returns to her homeland on a mission of vengeance. With a list of six targets: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito. She embarks on a blood-soaked path to reclaim her past.

But revenge is just the beginning. According to Andrew Goldfarb, Senior Communications Manager at Sucker Punch, the journey will evolve beyond vengeance as Atsu meets allies, confronts emotional truths, and rediscovers her own humanity.

A new gameplay mechanic revealed in the trailer allows players to “glimpse Atsu’s past”, offering deeper narrative insights and emotional resonance as they progress through the story.

Pre-Orders Begin May 2nd

Pre-orders for Ghost of Yotei go live May 2nd across all participating retailers and the PlayStation Store. Three editions of the game will be available:
