Kung fu sim, Sifu, had a pretty nifty past few days, selling a whopping 50,000 copies on Steam in a few days. Even some odd days after its announcement, the game remains with a very respectable 94% on Steam. The game also made its way to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, having been console exclusives to the PS4 and PS5.
In early 2022, Parisian developer Sloclap released its next venture following its 2017 brawler, Absolver, published with the help of Devolver Digital. Sifu, however, was all on the developer without the help of a real publisher. To ensure the game got made, the studio had to cut a deal with Epic Games, leading to the Unreal Engine maker with the king fu sim as a timed exclusive on its digital PC storefront.
The game has even been updated, with updates rolling out to ensure it remains at the forefront of peoples' minds. Major updates range from bringing modifies to the table to adding difficulties to make it more accessible, to its most recent expansion update -- Arenas -- which added five new modes complete with 45 challenges.
Sloclap signed off the tweet by encouraging people to take five minutes to leave a review of Sifu if they've been enjoying it.
