Night Street Games is ready to drop players into the heart-pounding action of its debut title. The independent studio revealed, that Last Flag, a fresh take on the classic Capture the Flag shooter, will launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 14th. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are in development and slated for release later this year, expanding the game's reach to a broader audience.

Inspired by the real-world Capture the Flag games of founders Dan and Mac Reynolds during their childhood, Last Flag recaptures that thrill of hiding, seeking, and outsmarting opponents. The duo felt existing CTF modes in shooters fell short of the tension and excitement of physical play, so they built a digital evolution: fast-paced 5v5 matches in a vibrant 1970s retro game show aesthetic. Players embody glamorous contestants battling for fame and fortune in strategic, entertaining rounds that wrap in under 20 minutes.

Mac Reynolds, CEO and co-founder, shared his passion: "The work on Last Flag has been a dream for everyone at the studio. It doesn't come around often that you can develop a game exactly as you envision it. The PC release is a huge milestone for us, but we're just getting started. Throughout the year, our players can expect new maps, new contestants, and some unexpected twists. We can't wait to share it all."

No need to wait until April to dive into the game however. Last Flag joins Steam Next Fest with an open demo available until March 2nd. Participants can earn exclusive cosmetics like the Lunar Gold skin set, which carries over to the full game. It's a perfect chance to test the fluid movement, smart map design, and tactical depth that set Last Flag apart in the shooter genre.

Last Flag arrives as a one-time purchase on PC, with additional playable characters, maps, and free cosmetics rolling out throughout 2026 at no extra cost. This commitment to post-launch support positions it as a live-service contender without the grindy microtransactions plaguing some peers.

The game's 1970s game show vibe infuses every element: neon-lit arenas with cheering crowds, contestant outfits blending retro flair and tactical gear, and announcer voice lines hyping clutch plays. Matches emphasize strategy over raw aim with it's flank routes, fakeouts, and team coordination shine in 5v5 CTF, where capturing the flag demands split-second decisions amid destructible environments and power-ups.

Night Street Games, founded by the Reynolds brothers, draws from their industry experience to craft a polished debut. Dan and Mac's real-life CTF roots ensure authentic tension: the flag's hiding spots create cat-and-mouse mind games, while respawns keep momentum high without frustrating wipes.

In a crowded and highly competitive shooter market, Last Flag differentiates itself with short, satisfying sessions ideal for quick queues and esports potential. Console ports later this year will broaden appeal, potentially syncing with competitive seasons.

Steam Next Fest is an event that maximizes exposure for many new games as millions of players tune in for demos, wishlists, and streams of all different types of new and upcoming games.

For fans of fast CTF like Quake's classic mode or Halo's twists, Last Flag offers a modern revival with visual pop and depth. Download the demo now, climb leaderboards, and snag those exclusives before March 2nd. Night Street Games is betting big on its vision and April 14th can't arrive soon enough.
