While we haven't heard anything new about Asterix & Obelix XXL 3: The Crystal Menhir for quite some time, publisher Microids and developer OSome Studio have finally decided to break radio silence.
According to the French studios, The Crystal Menhir will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Q4 2019 (so between October and December). As revealed by Microids, the upcoming threequel will be playable in solo or co-op, featuring beloved characters from the René Goscinny-created series, such as Asterix, Obelix, and Dogmatix. To put the titular item back, the heroes will embark on a dangerous journey and explore "the four corners of the Roman Empire and beyond."
In Microids' opinion, "both diehard and more recent fans will be excited about taking part in this epic adventure with our two heroes.” While the game was announced in June, the fact that we're still waiting for the official reveal trailer or synopsis may suggest that the title still has a long way to go.
As a reminder, the remake of Asterix & Obelix XXL2 is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
