Capcom has just announced that the demo for the critically acclaimed
Resident Evil 2 is making a comeback; this time, allowing players to play without the time limit in order to explore the Raccoon City Police Department at their leisure.
The original demo for
Resident Evil 2 was a 1-shot opportunity, in which players wanted to try it out could only play the demo for 30 minutes — not to mention it was only a one-time demo that could only be played one time.
What's even more interesting is the fact that some fans have noticed that the new
Resident Evil 2 demo features a Nemesis easter egg; an easter egg that is not even available in the full version of the game.
To trigger this easter egg, which has Nemesis yelling "S.T.A.R.S" in the same way he does in the reveal trailer for the recently announced
Resident Evil 3 remake, players need to walk outside of the police statio, turn to their right, and walk to the door covered by wood boards.
The reason why this Nemesis easter egg wasn't available in the original version of the
Resident Evil 2 remake is basically because, at the time, Capcom still hadn't announced that they were going to be remaking
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. That said, it would've been a nice easter egg, regardless of whether a remake was in the works or not.
The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game.
Resident Evil 2 is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Steam).
