Resident Evil 3 originally released back in 1999 for a variety of platforms including the original Sony PlayStation and Nintendo GameCube. On April 3rd, a modern remake of the title will be released and feature Jill Valentine as she fights her way through a zombie-infested Raccoon City whilst being hunted down by the monstrous Nemesis T-Type.

Recently, the upcoming remake's producers stated that the remake won't be accurate to the original in every way — unlike last year's remake of Resident Evil 2. We now know some of the creative liberties that have been taken — thanks to the Official PlayStation Magazine (via ResetEra).

First of all, it has been confirmed that Resident Evil 3 Remake won't feature an unlockable Mercenaries Mode like the original did. Instead, Resident Evil Resistance will serve as a stand-in.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will also not include multiple alternate endings. The choices that would have led to these alternate endings, that Jill would have faced in the form of Nemesis encounters, have been outright removed.

However, there are also some positive changes. It's said that Raccoon City will be more open this time around and you'll be able to pay a visit to a variety of locations. Carlos will be a playable character. The Official PlayStation Magazine also confirmed that Carlos will be a playable character and that mutant worms will be making a comeback.

Resident Evil 3 remake will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from April 3rd, 2020.
