Resident Evil 7 is regarded as one of the best titles in Capcom's long-running, and critically acclaimed survivor-horror series, as it brought back the survivor-horror elements that had been gradually disappearing since Resident Evil 5 launched in 2009.
There was one thing, however, that didn't convince quite the bunch of Resident Evil fans: the game's first-person view. While it is true that Resident Evil 7 was a survivor-horror game through and through, some fans loved the fact that it felt more immersive thanks to the first-person view, while others preferred a more traditional approach like the one Capcom used in Resident Evil 4.
According to a new rumour doing the rounds, some fans are about to be disappointed — as Capcom will reportedly be bringing back the divisive first-person view for Resident Evil 8; if this rumour is to be believed, of course.
What's actually disappointing is the fact that Capcom has already brought back a more traditional gameplay style with the critically acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 2, and have also embraced the third-person view for the soon-to-be-released remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
Of course, this is all but a rumour, and — as such — should be taken with a grain of salt. With all that said, Capcom should probably stick to the third-person view now that they've seen the overwhelmingly positive reception Resident Evil 2 has had; either that, or give players the choice to switch from first to third-person view on the go.
