It took Rebellion some time, but the Oxford-based developer has finally confirmed that
Sniper Elite V2: Remastered is a real thing.
While the title was technically announced two days ago by Microsoft, Rebellion has finally revealed the tittle’s existence and shared new details on the upcoming
V2 v.2.0.
Sniper Elite V2: Remastered will release for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this year, giving you a chance to experience the 2012 shooter in its full, upgraded glory. The remaster will feature a brand new photo mode, new playable characters, and a proper multiplayer and co-op component, allowing you to "
gather your squad and compete in 7 uniquely tense multiplayer modes."
In other news, Rebellion has revealed that a sequel to 2017's
Sniper Elite 4 is in the works. According to the studio, "
more details on the next major title in the Sniper Elite series will be unveiled in 2020. We know that’s a little while off – but we wanted to let you, the fans, know that we’ve heard your pleas and are hard at work on something that will entertain and delight you." Considering that next-gen consoles are expected to launch in mid-2020,
SEV might very well be a cross-gen title.
Rebellion is also working on a
Sniper Elite VR experience, currently in development in partnership with
Oddworld studio Just Add Water, that will debut in 2019, but no further details have been revealed yet.
