Gamescom featured many exciting announcements and reveals but one game that especially stuck out from the rest was The First Berserker: Khazan. Developed by NEXON and Neople (the studio behind Dungeon & Fighter), The First Berserker: Khazan is billed as a "hardcore action role-playing game."

And if there are any doubts about just how hardcore this game will be, I suggest you check out the trailer that was shown during Opening Night Live. The trailer provides a bit of context for the game's story, which is set in the Dungeon & Fighter universe, but also focuses on the intense battle scenes.

We get a glimpse of the action-packed gameplay — a frantic hack-and-slash style mixed with hardcore action — in which players will take on various boss fights against formidable foes, such as the Blade Phantom. As an action RPG, players will have a variety of weapons and perks to choose from, customizing their character's own way of growth. As you play as Khazan, you'll upgrade your character abilities while also combining different types of weapons and armor to match your playstyle. In the trailer below, we get a fresh look at the Spear and the Greatsword.

Action and gameplay aside, The First Berserker: Khazan looks absolutely gorgeous as the trailer highlights the unique atmosphere and beautiful 3D cel animated graphics.

Khazan and Ozma, the heroes who saved the Pell Los Empire from Hismar the Berserk Dragon and the Dragon Legion. However, General Khazan, falsely accused of treason, becomes a wretched outcast as he is condemned to exile beyond the empire through brutal torture.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a hardcore action RPG based on DNF (Dungeon & Fighter) Universe that will be available on PC Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. As Khazan, the great general of the Pell Los Empire who overcame death, players will unveil the incidents that led to his downfall and seek vengeance on his enemies.

The First Berserker: Khazan focuses on the story of Ozma and Khazan, with players becoming the hero Khazan, the ancestor of all Slayers and the one who defeated Hismar the Berserk Dragon, proceeding to uncover the truth of his downfall within the empire.

It was announced that The First Bersker: Khazan will launch in early 2025 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Before then, fans will have a chance to participate in the first Technical Closed Beta playtest, which runs from October 11 to October 20. Signing up to participate is super simple; you simply head to the game's website and enter your email while selecting your platform of choice. The Technical Closed Beta is only available on consoles.
