Now that Insomniac Games is officially part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, players expected to see — at the very least — one announcement during today's presentation, but no one could have ever imagined that there would be two game reveals.

With the announcement of MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Insomniac Games is definitely one of the developers that really made PlayStation fans excited for Sony's next-gen console — and for good reason, too; Insomniac Games always delivers top quality products.

Since MARVEL's Spider-Man properly set up a sequel at the end of the main campaign. Ratchet & Clank, on the other hand, is a series that was recently reimagined by Insomniac Games, but it also felt like a remaster rather than the starting point for a new series; making today's announcement not only unexpected, but also the more exciting.

The announcement trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gave players a pretty good idea of what the PlayStation 5 is capable in terms of graphics. Due to YouTube compression, graphics cannot really be fully appreciated.

For those who want to see more of the recently revealed game, Insomniac Games has released a small batch of high definition in-engine — perhaps, even, in-game — screenshots, and the game looks insanely beautiful. In order to enjoy them in full resolution, we encourage you to open them in a new tab.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is currently in development for the PlayStation 5.
