As revealed by Focus Home Interactive, the Saber Interactive-created adaptation of
World War Z, which launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC just a week ago, has already shipped more than 1 million copies globally, officially making it one of the fastest-selling games in the French publisher’s history.
“
Overall the U.S. and EU have been equally strong in sales. We have had 70,000 people playing at once across all platforms, with very similar distribution among PC (Epic Games Store), PS4 and Xbox," Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch explained. "
What surprises us is the fact that sales outside of the U.S. on the Epic Store have been so strong, with the U.S. being only one quarter of sales.”
Considering that
World War Z already is a huge hit, the fact that the team at Saber is currently working hard on a
Warhammer 40,000 video game in partnership with Focus Home, it looks like the New Jersey-based developer has finally managed to find its niche in the "AA" game development business.
In this new zombie game, you have to make tactical use of traps, barriers, and even the environment to slow down the hordes of the undead, but remember that fighting zombies with three other players will definitely make the whole experience a bit easier (and probably a lot more fun). Be sure to take a look:
Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time on players in a nail-biting action experience around the world, including New York, Moscow, Jerusalem and more. Play in co-op with up to 3 friends using six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets and traps to demolish the undead menace and survive another day.
World War Z is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (via Epic Games Store) NOW!
