Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have launched the third season of, their popular battle royale game, Apex Legends. Season 3 goes by the name "Meltdown" and not only introduces an expansive, new map to the battle royale but also a new playable hero and weapon.

"Cool, calm, and collected, Crypto deploys a specialized surveillance drone to stay in the fight and out of the spotlight," reads the character's official description. Alongside Crypto's introduction, Respawn released a trailer which entirely focuses on the new legend — you can check that out below.

As well as the new map and character, there's also a new battle pass which will allow players to unlock a plethora of cosmetic items such as skins and gun charms. Like the aforementioned character trailer, Respawn has also released a video which goes into what's up for grabs with the newest battle pass — and you can also check that out below.

For a more detailed breakdown of what's new with Season 3, you can head over to the official patch notes that Respawn recently shared over on the game's dedicated subreddit.
