A brand new
Doctor Who video-game has been announced by
BBC Studios.
Doctor Who: The Edge of Time will be a virtual-reality title released in September. Developed by Maze Theory, PlayStack are responsible for publishing it.
The game will feature the current iteration of The Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, and allow players to make use of the Sonic Screwdriver and take on iconic foes such as the Weeping Angels and Daleks. These two villains are the primary focus of the game's new teaser trailer (which you can watch below).
Armed with the iconic Sonic Screwdriver, players will solve mind-bending puzzles, grapple with classic monsters and encounter new horizons in a quest to find the Doctor and defeat a powerful force that threatens to destroy the fabric of reality. They will face the infamous Daleks and other known faces from the Doctor’s universe plus some brand new never-before-seen monsters as they travel through stunning cinematic environments that truly bring the show to life!
Doctor Who: The Edge of Time will taks players with ridding the universe of a virus which threatens to tear apart reality. Players will visit new and familiar places in the TARDIS to recover powerful time crystals which will aid them in their mission to
"repair spacetime and ultimately save the universe itself.”
We know that the VR game will be releasing in September, but an exact date hasn't been announced just yet. It'll be available on the following devices: PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, HTC Vive and Vive Cosmos.
