CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE Battle Pass Will Launch In December

Made popular by Fortnite, a battle pass allows players to progress through an increasingly rewarding series of unlockables. They're released in seasons and therefore only available for a limited time. Given that players are only allowed a limited time with each season, it incentivises them to play in order to work their way up the ranks and reach the most notable prizes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 featured a battle pass and seasons and so will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Revealed during a recent earnings call by Activision and Infinity Ward (via Comicbook.com), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's first season will kick off in a month's time.

At some point in December, a battle pass will be added for players to work their way through and unlock weapons, cosmetics, and the like. Though a precise release date wasn't announced, Activision and Infinity Ward did revealed that their will be two different battle passes.

One of the passes will be totally free whilst the other will be considered premium and you'll have to pay to partake in it — which is pretty standard as far as battle passes go.
