Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC since September 12th, 2019. However, Call of Duty: Warzone only debuted on all of those platforms a month ago. The former has already had two seasons of post-launch content while the latter hopped on the bandwagon midway through the second season.
The second season in question kicked off on February 11th. Now's the time to introduce Season 3. Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced that the third season of post-launch content will begin on April 8th and applies to both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Accompanying this announcement is an awesome piece of promotional artwork which notably features an amputee soldier and Simon "Ghost" Riley. Odds are you will be able to purchase as each of the characters on show here, once Season 3 is live, and play as them in-game. That's not all that's notable about this image.
In the bottom right, beside the leg of the hooden soldier, we can see what appears to be Backlot. Longtime fans of the first-person shooter franchise will recognise Backlot as one of the multiplayer maps that originally featured in 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It seems Infinity Ward has given the map the remaster treatment.
