Last Friday, Activision and Infinity Ward officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3. The second season has been active since February and served as the first for Call of Duty: Warzone. Nonetheless, Season 3 will also apply to the free-to-play battle royale.
With Season 3 kicking off on April 7th at 11pm PT, Activision and Infinity Ward have shared an exciting, new trailer (via Call of Duty) which shows off all that the coming season of post-launch content has to offer. Additionally, they've revealed the roadmap and Battle Pass for the third season.
The roadmap reveals three new maps will be available within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare right from the start of Season 3 and even more will be added later down the line. First off, there's Talisk Backlot. It's a remake of the classic Backlot map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
While Hovec Sawmill is an entirely new map, Aniyah Incursion is but a portion of the larger Aniyah Palace map that has been a part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since launch. Another multiplayer map called Hardhat is on the way — this seems to be a remake of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 map of the same name. There's also an upcoming Gunfight map called Aisle 9.
New weapons include a sniper rifle called the SK5 as well as a pistol called the Renetti. More new weapons and Gunsmith blueprints will be added further in season. New operators include Alex (a character from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's campaign mode), Ronin, and Iskra. New modes include Gun Game Reloaded and Reinfected Ground War.
Exclusive to the Call of Duty: Warzone side of things; Season 3 introduces Quads to the battle royale. That is to say players will now be able to collaborate in teams of up to four players. There are new vehicles and vehicle skins. New weapons will be introduced to the battlefield throughout the season.
The Battle Pass includes a plethora of new Operator skins as well as weapon blueprints, all of which range from Rare to Epic to Legendary. You can earn Call of Duty Points as well as XP and Weapon XP tokens. Check out the official images and trailer below to find out more about what Season 3 and its respective Battle Pass has to offer.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone are both out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
