Well, it's officially the holiday season. I know, it's only Halloween, but Best Buy has already kicked off its seasonal shopping deals with what the retailer is calling "DoorBOOsters."
This Halloween-weekend kickoff to Black Friday discounts games, consoles, and peripherals throughout the weekend, with most of the gaming deals ending on Monday, November 2nd. We went through the video game deals page platform by platform to pull out the discounts actually worth your money.
Best PlayStation Deals
PlayStation owners get the deepest game discounts of the sale, led by Sony's first-party catalog. Both Last of Us games drop to $29.99, and Death Stranding 2 is $30 off.
The 007 First Light Legacy Edition shows the biggest dollar drop, but that is against a premium-edition list price. For most players, the two Last of Us games are the standout buys. Sim racers should also look at the Thrustmaster T248R wheel and pedals, marked 14% off.
Best Xbox deals
Xbox's best DoorBOOster savings are on controllers rather than games. The Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra at $70 off is the pick, and Microsoft's own wireless controller dips to $53.99.
Flight sim fans can grab the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight system for $329.99, $70 off. Unfortunately, Xbox Series X|S console deals are thin with the only Series X discount we found being a refurbished unit at $699.99.
Best Nintendo Switch & Switch 2 deals
Nintendo fans get the best hardware deals of the sale. A refurbished Switch OLED is $179.99, and the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle saves $37.98 over buying each piece separately.
The refurbished OLED is the best value for a kid's first console, while the Switch 2 bundle is the move if you want current-gen hardware. Zelda fans should note Best Buy's late-night openings at midnight ET on Thursday, Nov. 5, for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, with limited 40th Anniversary Switch 2 systems and Pro Controllers.
Best multiplatform headset deals
These headsets work across PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, so one purchase covers a mixed-console household. The HyperX Cloud III at $57.99 is the best all-rounder for the money.
The Corsair Void v2 and Void v2 Max (PS5, PC, and Switch, no Xbox) are also $40 and $30 off, at $89.99 and $119.99.
This is just the beginning of Best Buy's 2026 holiday shopping season. As we previously noted, the retailer will kick off it sEarly Black Friday Deals on Nvoember 6th, followed by a more official Black Friday sale from November 19-28. I imagine we'll see similar types of discounts on games with these other sales.
Given how expensive tech is these days, I hope we'll see some sales on game consoles, but I imagine we'll probably see bundled offerings rather than actual discounts. We'll probably see some sort of Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart and maybe a PlayStation 5 bundle with Grand Theft Auto 6 or some other holiday blockbuster title. Maybe an Xbox Series X|S with the just-released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4?
Keep it tuned to GameFragger as we bring you the best holiday deals this year!
