Arc System Works and Swery's new action/adventure title,
The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories, is coming out next week and we've slowly been getting more information about the game—which was a complete mystery when it was first revealed back in August.
The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is a game that will see players taking control of J.J. Macfield as they traverse through the Island of Memories looking for her friend Emily. This mysterious island Emily got lost in is a surreal and scary place where people cannot die—which doesn't necessarily mean they can't suffer a horrible death over and over again.
Gameplay-wise, this is a game that seems to be taking notes from other acclaimed action/adventure titles like Limbo and Inside—both of which featuring eerie environments that can send chills up the player's spine; and
The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories seems to be going for that, as well.
Today, Arc System Works shared a 1 minute gameplay video for
The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories, showing off some of the game's platforming, as well as a slightly unsettling death. The game sure does look interesting, though, and people familiar with Hidetaka Suehiro(Swery) know very well what to expect from titles he's been involved in.
