Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the result of a Kickstarter by Koji Igarashi — former Producer at Konami who was involved in the acclaimed Castlevania series — which saw the first game in Bloodstained series(Curse of the Moon) being released in May of last year.

Igarashi's Ritual of the Night, however, has seen quite a few delays since the project began back in 2015, being pushed back to what seems to be a very definitive release window of summer 2019.

The reason for the delays has to do with the developers wanting to deliver a very polished game to both players and the original backers of the Kickstarter campaign; which makes sense any way we look at it.

Today we get a new update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which comes as a comparison video showing the graphics in last year's demo of the game(available only for backers who supported the kicksterter with a minimum of $60) and the current state of the project; showing a substantial change in the textures.

Take a look:

Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist's curse that slowly crystallizes her body. Battle through a demon-infested castle and defeat its master to save yourself, and all of humanity.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in summer of 2019.
