Call of Cthulhu is not the only recent video game inspired by the body of work of H.P. Lovecraft that is worth your attention. Based on Lovecraft’s "At the Mountains of Madness", Zoetrope Interactive's horror Conarium was released on PC in 2017 with the promise of an imminent launch on consoles.

It looks like the studio needed more time then they had initially thought, and after the recently announced promise that the game would be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019, publisher Iceberg Interactive announced today that the long-delayed port will launch on February 12.

According to Iceberg, Conarium has been enhanced on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, as players will have the option to choose between two modes: “Favour Performance” and “Favour Resolution.” Using "Performance" will lock the game at 1080p, running at 60 FPS, while choosing "Resolution" will boost the resolution on both consoles significantly, and also lock the performance at steady 30 FPS.

In the meantime, be sure to take a closer look at Conarium in its console launch trailer down below:

You, as Frank Gilman, open your eyes inside a room filled with strange, pulsating noises. Patterns of lights executing a Danse Macabre on the walls is presented by a queer device on the table. Having recalled nothing other than that you’re in Upuaut, an Antarctic base located near the South Pole, you find the place deserted and have a distinct feeling of something being terribly wrong. Somehow knowing that your memories cannot guide you enforces a strange feeling of vulnerability, a familiar yet alien sensation of being a part of a peculiar whole... Soon you will discover that having used the device during the expedition, you have died but then returned subtly changed, speaking of strange memories and of strange places. You have lost something important or gained something sinister...

Conarium is available on PC NOW, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 12, 2019.
