Focus Home Interactive officially launched Call of Cthulhu on October 30th, but the publisher had been waiting until today to release an accolade trailer for the psychological thriller. While Call of Cthulhu’s highest rated PC version is currently sitting at 68% on Metacritic, Cyanide Studio's latest game has received a special trailer that focuses on the mostly positive reception from the gaming press.

Cyanide's take on H.P. Lovecraft's body of work features a semi-open world environment that is incorporating the most prominent themes of Lovecraftian and psychological horror set in a terrifying world of conspiracies, cultists, and cosmic horrors. Naturally, the title is inspired not only by Lovecraft's short story The Call of Cthulhu, but also 1981's classic role-playing game with the same title.

It will be interesting to see if the reception of Call of Cthulhu will drastically chance over time. The previous game featuring A Great Old One, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is viewed as one of the most underappreciated games of the last decade, as Headfirst Productions managed to create an interactive world where H.P. Lovecraft's horror meets a truly captivating gameplay. Take a look:

Uncover the chilling mysteries of this Narrative RPG game, descending deep into a world of cosmic horrors, creeping madness, and shrouded Old Gods within Lovecraft’s iconic universe.

Call of Cthulhu is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam NOW!
