Today marks the beginning of Season 5.5 in Marvel Rivals and the debut of Rogue in the multiplayer shooter, but at The Game Awards on Thursday, NetEase gave fans a sneak peek at Season 6. Kicking off on January 16, 2026, Season 6: Night at the Museum will add the snarkiest hero to date: Deadpool.

Deadpool's debut trailer emphasizes the Marvel character's chaotic nature with his trademark humor and fourth-wall breaking on full display. When the Collector calls in "his top professional," Deadpool proceeds to open every cage in the museum, unleashing intergalactic chaos.

While Deadpool's deadly arsenal of weaponry is on full display, the trailer doesn't reveal his specific abilities. But we can rest easy knowing he'll bring all sorts of mayhem to Marvel Rivals matches.

Towards the end of the trailer, NetEase also hints at another possible character joining the fray in Season 6, Elsa Bloodstone, who is called in to put a stop to Deadpool's crazy antics. Her appearance at the end of the trailer suggests she will also be featured in Season 6, perhaps arriving during the back half.

After Gambit's attempt to steal a prized artifact from the Collector's Museum, he and Rogue return to the scene of the crime in an attempt to escape. The Collector responds in the best way to avoid getting his hands dirty: by sending in his "top professional" and also... Deadpool... and the Merc with a Mouth opens the doors on every cage within the Collection, turning the Museum into the greatest intergalactic disaster this timeline has ever seen. But there's a hunter on the horizon ready to put a stop to the antics.

While Deadpool may have stolen the spotlight at The Game Awards, today marks the arrival of Rogue in Marvel Rivals as part of Season 5.5. A Vanguard class, "Rogue enters the fray combining her immense strength with Chronovium energy. Rogue charges into enemy lines with powerful melee abilities, opening opportunities for her team with her signature ability: power absorption."

"During battle, Rogue can take down an enemy hero and absorb abilities from them, gaining a basic buff based on their role. She may even steal a signature ability, like Doctor Strange's Shield of the Seraphim or Loki's Regeneration Domain. And that's not all, when Rogue activates her Ultimate, she continuously drains Ultimate Ability Energy from nearby enemies, giving her team the edge and gaining further buffs based on their roles, making her a true powerhouse on the battlefield!"

Season 5.5 is now live in Marvel Rivals and brings with it the return of Jeff's Winter Splash Festival and the new holiday season map, Jeffland. The map introduces a new three-way brawl featuring three distinct Jeff variants, each with their own unique skillset. There are also a new series of holiday and winter-themed costumes and cosmetics available throughout the season. Jeff's Winter Splash Festival and the Holiday Special events will begin on December 18th.
