Bandai Namco posted the gameplay breakdown for Android 16 just last week that highlighted some of the iconic fighter's best moves with the help of some gaming commentary to walk players through the mechanics. Android 16 appears to have a slow-and-steady fighting style that revolves around grappling with the enemy while staying close to them, so expect an Android 16 to be up in your face if you're fighting him. But towards the end of the video, one of Android 16's most impactful moves was previewed, a self-destruct grab that results in the enemy's health instantly being reduced to nothing. Dragon Ball Z fans will remember Android 16 attempting to use the self-destruct move against Cell in a virtuous attempt to take the villain down with him, but the ability didn't work out in Android 16's favor.
The move might be difficult to pull off when you need it most since it seems to require quite a bit of Android 16's energy to pull off, the resource bar at the bottom of the trailer dropping down to a "1" from a "4" just by attempting the move. It also has some pretty significant drawbacks as well, leaving Android 16 with barely any health at all after the move is completed.
The closed beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ runs September 16-18. Bandai Namco currently has the full release lined up for February 2018, and fans can look forward to the collector's edition below. Those who pre-order will also get access to the open beta, as well as early access to characters like Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta and Super Saiyan Blue Goku from Dragon Ball Super.
