We're still sorting through the madness that was this year's E3 but one thing has jumped out of the roaming herd of cinematic trailers, gameplay reveals and show floor interviews.  Remember back when Bungie said they had a 10 year plan for Destiny?  And players took that to mean that new content and expansion packs would be released periodically over the course of that 10 year span. Then without warning, Destiny 2 was announced and it was also revealed that none of the loot players spent countless hours grinding for would carry over.

Well EA and BioWare are continuing their quest to build the Destiny that fans wanted but never got, by doubling down with their own mission statement that Anthem is a "10 year journey."  On the Xbox Daily Show  EA vice president Patrick Soderlund stated, "[Anthem is] a social game where you and your friends go out on quests and journeys. It's a game that we've been working on for almost four years now. And it's a game that - once we launch it next year - will be the start of maybe a 10-year journey for us."

Of course, the gaming community was quick to point out the similarities with Activision's initial announcement about committing to Destiny for the long haul. Bets are already being placed on Anthem 2 arriving in 2020.  Presently, the first installment is slated for a fourth quarter 2018 release.
