FromSoftware reminded fans that Elden Ring still exists, setting the internet abuzz with excitement at the mere mention of the upcoming fantasy action RPG. Over the weekend, the developer tweeted about an update for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and followed up with another tweet that thanked fans for their enthusiasm and support for Elden Ring. And that's all it took for excited fans starved for information about the game to react with some pretty hilarious gifs and memes.

Unfortunately, FromSoftware offered no details or updates on the game itself which was first revealed over a year ago. Elden Ring is a third-person, open-world RPG helmed by acclaimed game director Hidetaka Miyazaki. Besides being the next project from the mastermind behind Bloodborne and Dark Souls, Elden Ring has drawn additional attention as a collaboration with A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin.

Details regarding Elden Ring are still scarce with the only real information shared at E3 last year. Elden Ring is said to focus more on RPG elements, offering a wider array of weapons, magic, and ways to engage enemies, as well as character customization elements. The goal is to provide players options to play with a style of gameplay and strategy that best suits them.

It's nice to know that Elden Ring is still in FromSoftware's pipeline but it's clear from the response that fans are thirsty for more information. In the meantime, they can look forward to playing a remaster of FromSoftware's Demon's Souls, a launch title for the PlayStation 5.
