Yesterday NetherRealm Studios surprised fans by releasing a short teaser trailer that promised to add new content to the critically acclaimed Mortal Kombat 11; revealing that the epic saga was still not over, and revealing the return of Shang Tsung — who was joined by two mysterious characters.
That was only but a teaser of what was to come, since NetherRealm also promised that the official reveal trailer would be released today, and — for the love of Raiden — they have delivered.
First things first, this new expansion is called Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath — which is a very appropriate title, as the expansion will continue the game's story where we left off at the end of Mortal Kombat, and will be introducing Shang Tsung as the new villain.
Shang Tsung isn't alone, as he is also joined by Nightwolf and Sindel — two characters that were part of the Kombat Pass DLC and are now finally part of the story, as well — and veteran fighters Fujin and Sheeva; two characters that have long requested by fans. Sorry, Mileena fans.
NetherRealm does have one final surprise for fans of the Mortal Kombat series, as RoboCop from Paul Verhoeven's critically acclaimed RoboCop film will also be joining the game's roster as a guest character; giving players the chance to pit the T-100 against RoboCop.
The good news don't stop there, as NetherRealm Studios also confirms that Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will be launching on the 26th of May, which is only a three mere weeks away from today. Don't take my word for it, though, and check out the awesome trailer for the game down below.
