A while ago, before
Mortal Kombat 11 even released, a bunch of upcoming DLC characters leaked online. Spawn, Sindel, and Nightwolf were three characters who featured on this leaked list of characters. NetherRealm Studios has since confirmed that they will be coming to the fighting game as playable characters, so the leak is essentially confirmed as legitimate.
Another character that featured on this leaked list of DLC characters was The Joker. Ed Boon, the director of
Mortal Kombat 11, recently took to Twitter (
@noobde) with some song lyrics.
"Some people call me the cowboy." This is roughly the line to a song called 'Joker', the only difference is that in the actual song it goes
"Some people call me a space cowboy."
We've got no idea why Boon would leave out a word unless he simply isn't that familiar with the song. Soon afterwards, another NetherRealm developer chimed in with a more blatant tease of the character. Tyler Lansdown's tweet reading:
"What a joker."
Given the leak and tweets, it seems that The Joker is all but confirmed to be coming to
Mortal Kombat 11 - that is, unless they're trolling us.
