The Terminator being revealed as a guest character in NehterRealm Studios' critically acclaimed
Mortal Kombat 11 is probably one of the most unexpected announcements that the developers could've made, and one that has fans of the both series ridiculously excited.
Thematically, the Terminator is a character that fits almost too perfectly in the
Mortal Kombat universe, and Ed Boon —
Mortal Kombat series co-creator — has actually revealed that the fighting series borrowed inspiration by action movies of the 80s; James Cameron's Terminator series being one of them.
Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pass owners have already had the chance to play as the Terminator in the game, but the character will become available for everyone to purchase on the 15th of November.
This weekend,
Mortal Kombat 11 is getting a free trial — where players who haven't yet had the chance to try out the game will be able to download it, completely free of charge, and play as every character; including the Terminator and the DLC characters that have already been released.
In the latest episode of the PlayStation Underground series, the crew is joined by Ed Boon and
Mortal Kombat 11 Executive Producer Erin Piepergerdes, as they show off some gameplay of the Terminator and comment on the character being added to the roster and what it meant to the developers to have such an iconic characcter joining the
Mortal Kombat series.
