Mortal Kombat 11 continued the feature set up in 2015’s Mortal Kombat X by including variations for each character. Each variation can dramatically alter the fighter’s play style and combo potential.
Mortal Kombat 11 previously featured two tournament legal variations per character. It also has custom variations where players can customise their own versions of characters through a list of pre-created special moves.This is all evolving as NetherRealm Studios have added in third variations for each fighter in Mortal Kombat 11. Some characters have been given improved zoning, more mix-ups whilst others have been blessed with more combo potential.
Here’s a list of the abilities included in Mortal Kombat 11’s third variations.
Shand Tsung’s new variation includes all four shapeshifting ninja abilities: Force Lift, Shake, Slide and Super Kick.
Shao Kahn: Skewered and Spear Charge
Frost: Ice Auger, Icequake (Air) and Core Overload
Nightwolf: Spirit Tracks, Ancestral Hunter and Lightning Arrow
Johnny Cage: High Forceball, Low Fireball and Rising Star
Sonya Blade: Summon K.A.T and Air BLB-118 Advanced
Jax: Lethal Clap, Enhanced Outranked and Ground Shatter
Kano: Snake Bite and Optic Blast
Noob Saibot: Sickle Snag, Shadow Dive (Air) and Sickle Toss
Baraka: Baraka-Serker, Leg Kabob and Blade Charge
Raiden: Lightning Rod, Jo Push
Jacqui Briggs: Enhanced Air Blast, Bionic Bounce and Ground Pound (Air)
Sub-Zero: Artic Trap and Creeping Ice
Scorpion: Misery Blade and Sin Blade (Air)
Kabal: Gas Blast, Low Spinner and Hook Grab
Liu Kang: Shaolin Vanish, Kusari Slam and Nunchaku Stance
Kitana: Low Fan Toss. Edenian Twist and Fan-Nado
Kung Lao: Spiritual Guidance and Vortex
Jade: Deadly Assassin, Vanishing Winds and Divine Forces
Skarlet: Boiling Point, Krimson Shield and Red Mist

DLC characters will now launch with their third variations, meaning, there will be much more for players to dive into.
