Recently, some handy data miners leaked information on the upcoming the Destiny 2 expansion, including the fact that it would be titled Shadowkeep and that it would take players back to the moon, and now Bungie has stuck to their promise and released the official reveal trailer for the next chapter.
The official trailer for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep doesn't feature any gameplay footage, but it does confirm the recent leaks. However, it does contain a pretty big surprise, as we learn that Eris Morn will finally make her big return to the franchise.
Along with this footage, a new logline also reveals that it was Eris Morn who accidentally unleashed the mysterious threat players will battle when they return to the lunar landscape.
Finally, the developer released an intriguing new documentary, which highlights all of the work that goes on behind the scenes to bring the game, and the new Shadowkeep expansion, to life.
New Nightmares have emerged from the shadows of our forgotten Moon. Called forth by haunting visions from her tormented past, Eris Morn has returned and unleashed something that once slumbered beneath the lunar surface – a long dormant power even she cannot control.
Return to the Moon. Journey deep into a mysterious enemy citadel. Help Eris slay these nightmares before they reach out beyond the Moon to cast humanity back into an age of darkness.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be available for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on September 17, 2019.
