With the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame right around the corner, Fortnite could be gearing up for another major in-game Marvel event. Following the discovery of leaked files pointing towards Thanos's return in the popular battle royale game, Fortnite's creative director Donald Mustard has taken to social media with a very interesting photo featuring Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. donning a Fortnite t-shirt.
He captioned the photo, "Looking good, [Robert Downey Jr.]. See you soon! #teamdowney."
On its own, the photo probably doesn't mean much to many. However, given the recent discovery of Thanos in the files of Fortnite's most recent v8.30 update, there could be more to the photo.
This wouldn't be the first time these two blockbuster franchises teamed up. Last year, Epic Games and Marvel collaborated together for the release of Avengers: Infinity War, adding a special mode that featured Thanos. In that mode, players who found the Infinity Gauntlet could transform into Thanos and wield his powerful abilities.
If Thanos does return to Fortnite, it's unclear if it will be in the same form or if Epic and Marvel are cooking up something even bigger this time around.
Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26.
