Fortnite: Galactic Battle, the Star Wars-themed limited time event for the popular battle royale game, is set to kcik off this Friday, May 2nd. Ahead of its arrival, Epic Games has finally shared the details, providing a rundown for the month-long event.
As previously announced, Fortnite: Galactic Battle will run from May 2nd until June 7, 2025 with each week introducing new content. As with any new season, there will be a new Star Wars Battle Pass with both free and premium rewards that can be unlocked by simply playing the game. The premium pass costs 1,000 V-Bucks, or you can get it through Fortnite Crew. The premium reward Outfits in the Pass include: Apprentice Evie (instantly unlocked), Poe Dameron, Wookiee Team Leader, and Emperor Palpatine.
General Grievous will also be an unlockable Outfit in the Star Wars Battle Pass later in May for those who complete objectives that will come later in the season.
The map itself has also been re-themed with new Star Wars locations, including the First Order Base, Resistance Base, Vader Samurai's Solitude, and Outpost Enclave. Those able to infiltrate the First Order Base will find Captain Phasma. Defeating her will reward you with the Mythic Captain Phasma’s F-11D Blaster and Phasma’s Blaster Medallion, the latter which extends how long it takes a blaster weapon to overheat, and reduces its cooldown.
The lightsaber is making its return. Finding the Rey hologram will unlock the Blue Lightsaber and grant you the Force Push ability. If you find the Emperor Palpatine hologram, you'll get the Red Lightsaber and learn Force Lightning, a brand new Force ability that deals shock damage. In order to unleash Force Abilities, you'll need to have a lightsaber equipped. Force Abilities are tied to you and not your lightsaber, so if you fight a lightsaber on the ground, it will not provide you with a Force Ability. Defeating Darth Vader Samurai will unlock a different red-colored lightsaber and the Force Saber Throw ability.
For those who prefer to roll with a trusty blaster by your side, there's a ton of them. These won't run off ammo, but holding down the trigger does run the risk of overheating them.

As I mentioned, this event runs for multiple weeks, and each week has its own theme. May 8th, for instance, is "The Pull of the Force." Luke, Leia, and Han Solo will arrive on the island and offer you "strategic services." A hologram of Mace Windu and Lord Darth Maul will also appear around the island. Mace Windu will reward players with a purple lightsaber and the Force Pull ability, while Lord Darth Maul will offer the red lightsaber and teach Force Throw, letting you pick up objects and throw them as projectiles.
May 15th is "Chew on This," which will see Chewbacca arrive with his Wookie Bowcaster. The brand new CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster will also be added, and can be scavenged from chests around the island.
May 22nd will be "Mandalorian Rising." You'll be able to recruit a Heavy, Scout, Supply, or Medic Mandalorian to your team. The Mandalorian Jetpack will also be unvaulted, while the Amban Sniper Rifle and the new dual-wield WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistols will be added.
May 29th is "Star Desteroy Bombardment." During this phase, a portal to the Star Destroyer’s control room will spawn every match. Taking control of this point first will give you control of the Star Destroyer's turbolaser.
June 7th is the final week of Fortnite: Galactic Battle. This will include a live, in-game narrative event in which you'll take the fight to Emperor Palpatine.
Fortnite: Galactic Battle will start at 2:00 a.m. ET on May 2nd / 11:00 p.m. PT (May 1st).
